B.S., Anthropology, Portland State University, 2013
Aaron has been working professionally as an archaeologist in the Pacific Northwest since 2016. As a field tech, he worked for different companies on a variety of projects ranging from single-day pedestrian surveys to large-scale data recovery and monitoring projects. Aaron first started working with Willamette CRA as a field technician in 2017 and became full-time staff in early 2025.
In 2024, Aaron received an M.S. in Anthropology from Portland State University. His thesis focused on using existing site report data from archaeological sites in the Tualatin River Basin of Willamette Valley, Oregon to identify gaps in recorded data that could affect the accuracy of evaluations of site significance. The project involved GIS analysis and lithic analysis. In 2024, Aaron interned with the National Park Service and assisted in updating GIS boundaries for National Historic Landmarks in the Pacific West Region and assessed vulnerability of select NHLs to climate change hazards.
Aaron’s areas of interest include Pacific Northwest archaeology, landscape archaeology, climate change impacts, GIS mapping and analysis, and archaeological field methods. He is a member of the Register of Professional Archaeologists and the Society for American Archaeology.
