Kristin Kayaani

Kristin is from Nuevo Mexico where she found her love for archaeology in the Chuska Mountains of NM and the mesas of Pinon, AZ. She received a B.A. in Anthropology and a B.A. in Native American Indigenous Studies from Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO. During her time at Fort Lewis College she served as a student representative on the Native American Graves and Repatriation Board, as well as assisted with analyzing archeological collections in the college’s Center of Southwest Studies Museum.

After graduating Kristin continued her collaboration with local Tribal Governments, taking a position as Senior Archeological Technician with the Navajo Nation Heritage and Historic Preservation Department in Shiprock, NM. In the summer of 2021, Kristin became an Archaeological Field Technician for Willamette CRA. She soon joined the company as a permanent staff member in late 2022. Her professional interests include zooarchaeology, archaeological curation and NAGPRA.

When Kristin is not working, you can find her sailing with her partner or out walking in the woods with the best dog in the whole world, Darko.
