Michael started his association with WillametteCRA analyzing an assemblage of projectile points as an intern in 2011 before working in the field and assisting lab and research projects on a part-time basis.
After completing his undergraduate degree, Michael continued full-time with WillametteCRA conducting fieldwork for cultural resource projects ranging from pedestrian and shovel probe survey to formal excavations at archaeological sites.
Michael has recorded numerous precontact and historic-era sites, stacked rock features and trails. After assisting with report production for several years, Michael has become our lead technical editor, responsible for report formatting in the Portland office and implementing company-wide procedures.
He also gathers, analyzes, and composes technical information required for preparation of company manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, reports, file databases, etc.
He is also a co-lead in the oversight and implementation of our geographic information system (GIS) department.
Michael’s interests include lithic analysis, historic development of communities in Oregon, urban planning, and multi-disciplinary approaches to understanding the past and present.
