Scott Pierson, B.A.
Archaeologist & Technical Editor
B.A., Anthropology, Washington State University, 2007
Scott began working for WillametteCRA in 2008 as a field technician before becoming a full-time employee in the summer of 2017. He is the lead technical editor and GIS analyst for the Seattle office. He also assists with archaeological survey, testing, data recovery, and monitoring.
Scott grew up in the Portland-Vancouver metropolitan area and received his bachelor’s degree from Washington State University in 2007.
Scott has worked in cultural resource management on a variety of large and small-scale projects for private companies and state and federal agencies throughout the Pacific Northwest, Great Basin, and Rocky Mountains since 2008.
Scott’s grandfather was illegally kidnapped and deported as a striking mineworker during the 1917 Bisbee Deportation. This may have spurred Scott’s interest in early 20th-century labor organization, radicalism, nationalism, and local government response.
Scott is particularly interested in Pacific Northwest labor history, the Wobblies, and the Centralia Massacre. He is also interested in the role of new technology on modern cultural and political movements. He is a member of the Association for Washington Archaeology. Scott is 40-hour HAZWOPER certified.
