Tony discovered his love for science through his wonderful professors at East Los Angeles College (ELAC). While there, he was vice president of the ELAC Anthropology Club, and a founding member of the ELAC Geography Club. He then attended the University of California, Santa Cruz to earn his B.A. in Anthropology and B.A. in Community Studies, while also serving as treasurer of Movimiento Estudiantil Chicanx de Aztlan (MEChA) de UCSC.

Tony worked at the ReBuilding Center, a climate justice non-profit organization before starting at WillametteCRA in 2022. He joined the team full-time in 2024.

His interests are in human spatial distribution, relationships with landforms, and cultural structure. He spends his work time digging and hiking in the field, in the office using GIS software, or in the lab processing paleoethnobotanical specimens. Off the clock, Tony is singing or dancing somewhere on the West Coast.
